EIS

The EIS (Enterprise Investment Scheme) is a government initiative designed to encourage individuals to invest in smaller British companies. To achieve this EIS offers a range of tax incentives. These include:

  • 30% upfront tax relief on amount invested for the 2011/12 tax year (up to £500,000 investment)
  • Ability to defer or roll over capital gains
  • Capital gains tax free growth
  • Tax relief on any losses
  • Up to 100% Inheritance Tax relief if held for two years

WH Ireland provides private investors with access to this attractive tax regime through the recently launched EIS growth fund, whilst corporate clients are able to benefit from the considerable expertise of our Corporate Broking team in raising capital under EIS.

The UK EIS Growth Fund

The fund will focus on companies quoted on the AIM market. We believe that the quoted market offers superior corporate governance, greater financial transparency and liquidity to support timely realisation of investments.

The fund is managed by Paul Sheehan, who has over 25 years experience as a fund manager at a number of top UK houses, including Jupiter, DRCM and Newton.
