SIPP Management
WHI has been involved in SIPP management over very many years and has built up an expertise in managing investments that suit our clients’ requirements.
A Self Invested Personal Pension (SIPP) is a scheme that provides you with the option of choosing when, where and how you invest the assets of your pension fund. Any contributions that you make to a SIPP will receive tax relief at your highest marginal rate, although there are some restrictions to higher rate tax relief for those "high earners". There are also restrictions on how much you are able to contribute to your pension each year. Please contact us for more information.
With a SIPP you are free to invest in:
- Unit trusts
- Open ended investment companies (OEICs)
- Investment trusts
- Insurance company funds
- UK gilts
- UK shares
- US & European shares
- Bonds
- Permanent Interest Bearing Shares
- Cash/deposit accounts
- Commercial property
It is important to remember that the range of available investments depends largely on the choice of SIPP provider.
There are two options with regard to receiving advice on SIPPs from WHI:
Full service SIPP
WHI’s financial planners will:
- Understand your complete pension needs
- Review all your existing pension arrangements
- Use their status as Independent Financial Advisers to research the market for the best available SIPP wrapper to suit your needs
- Advise on suitable investments to be held within your SIPP
- Confirm their recommendations in writing to you
- Help you complete any pension transfers into your SIPP
- Hold annual reviews with you to ensure your pension planning is on track
- Advise on how to take income/cash from your pension (after age 55, the minimum age at which you can take your pension benefits)
WHI SIPP
This is appropriate if you need a SIPP wrapper to hold any investments as listed above other than deposit accounts or direct holdings in commercial property. Commercial property exposure can still be obtained via pooled funds and direct holdings in equities.
One of WHI’s Financial Planners will speak with you to ensure the WHI SIPP meets your needs and is an appropriate investment for you. They will explain the benefits and confirm these to you in writing for your records.
